Joanne Williams Chatoney, 75, of Indianola died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at South Sunflower County Hospital.

She was born on January 29, 1939, and was the daughter of Arnold and Betty Williams. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1957 and attended Mississippi State College for Women. Mrs. Chatoney was a bookkeeper for Gresham Petroleum for 17 years and then worked as a receptionist for Indianola Family Medical Group for 5 years. She attended First United Methodist Church where she was a member of Aldersgate Sunday School Class, and the SOS Ladies Group.

Mrs. Chatoney was preceded in death by her parents, and her great grandson, Chatoney John Patrick.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles Robert Chatoney; three daughters, Beth Patrick (Joe) of Acworth, Ga., Marcia Hargett (Mark) of Cleveland and Laura Daughtry (Brad) of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren, Emily Walker (Bobby) of Acworth, Ga., Craig Patrick (Morgan) of Dallas, Ga., Aubrey and Ally Hargett of Cleveland and Rachael and Lane Daughtry of Huntsville, Ala.; and two great grandchildren, Margot and Kate Walker of Acworth, Ga.

The family received friends Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 1-3 p.m. funeral service at Indianola First United Methodist Church. Interment followed in Indianola City Cemetery, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.
