Larry Dean Cole, 58, former resident of Cleveland, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Ketchikan, Alaska.

There will be no formal service. His remains will be cremated and his ashes will be spread over the Wrangle Mountain in Alaska.

He was born August 6, 1955, to Emma Jean Thompson and Harold Cole in Colorado. At an early age the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. He was a commercial fisherman and a crane operator for Big Star during his time in Anchorage. He and his family moved to Shelby on July 4, 1996. He worked for JA Jones and Layne Central during his time in Mississippi. In 2006, he moved back to Anchorage and in 2013 he moved to Ketchikan.

He is preceded in death of his father, Harold Bell Cole of Kearney, Mo.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bill and Emma Jean Thompson of Shelby; brothers and sister-in-laws, Dale and Brenda Cole of Anchorage, Alaska, and Tim and Melissa Thompson of Cleveland; his daughter and son-in-law, Kenneth and Jolin Luna of Linn; and his son, Dane Cole, serving in the US Coast Guard, stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas.
