Sunday at 10:15 p.m. "two black males dressed in black with their faces covered walked into Back Yard Burgers, robbed them, and then left on foot," according to Cleveland Police Chief Buster Bingham.

On Monday afternoon Bingham said they had a person of interest but no arrests had been made.

On Sunday afternoon as Delta State students moved onto campus, the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department was called to a fire at the Hill Apartments on the campus, beside the intramural fields.

"We were called out at about 4:45 p.m. The fire was on the outside by the door and looked like someone had been smoking and the embers had blown under the dry grass and the wood by the outside of the door," said Cleveland Fire Inspector Greg Jackson.

Jackson confirmed someone was living in the apartment but no one was hurt.

"They put it out real quick, not a lot of damage. Just one of those accidental things that happens and we ask people be a little more careful," he said.

In regards to the fire on Saturday at A la Carte and Bolivar Insurance Co., Jackson said, "We're still investigating and I'm working closely with the state fire marshal. We pulled samples and sent them off just to try and figure out what, where, and why. The original point of ignition we may not ever know because of the extent of damage."

In regards to damage in his building, Ned Mitchell said the company will be open for business.

"We are going to be moving into a temporary location," he said.

Mitchell said if anyone needs to contact the company call him at 662-719-3141, Roger Easley 662-588-8056, or Clometa Register 662-721-8729.
